The monsoon is here, and we all agree that it is a sigh of relief and something to uplift the mood in this depressing period. While the beauty of fresh breeze and refreshing rains must be stealing your hearts, unfortunately, it might also be taking away the lustre from your hair. The monsoons are known to make your hair limp, lifeless and heavy. Hair also gets frizzy due to the high levels of humidity in the air. Don’t let the rainy season take a toll on your tresses. Follow these five rules of hair care and enjoy the rains:
1. It’s important to keep the hair and the scalp clean during monsoons. Cleanse your scalp and hair thoroughly with a good shampoo, suitable for your hair type. Do not forget to condition your hair with a nourishing and hydrating conditioner.
2. During the monsoons, make it a point to get a regular haircut. Trimming and cutting the hair will not only update your style but will also help in getting rid of the annoying split ends and dryness.
3. High humidity levels during monsoon can make hair frizzy. After washing your hair, use a microfibre towel to dry hair, which is not harsh on the locks. You can also tame the unruly hair with an application of serum on the towel-dried hair.
4. During monsoons, go for hairstyles which are fuss-free and help in preventing tangles and frizz. Some of the hairstyles we would recommend for the season are sleek ponytail, a neat bun, a creative tidy braid etc.
5. Although staying home is strongly recommended in the present situation, but in case you step out, make sure you take safety measures for yourself and remain careful about your hair. Use hoods, scarves, umbrella, or caps for keeping your hair covered and dry. You can also carry a small hairdryer in your bag to dry your hair in case you get stuck in rains.
Just follow these basic hair care tips and keep your hair monsoon ready!
